Mother's group 1st Birthday!

We had a 1st birthday celebration for all the bubs in mother's group. Meg is getting more sociable and confident and is happy to wander about without us by her side.

The MegaMonster walks!

Megs took her first steps on Wednesday the 28th of November. She also surprised us (and even more so herself), by standing for the first time without the need to pull up on something.

My first hair clip!

Ning-Ning, Nang-Nang

It is very obvious when Megan is asking for something to eat as she starts moaning with 'Ning-Ning, Nang-Nang.'

Standing on her own two feet!

Flying Fox Cafe

We had a picnic down at the Flying Fox Cafe. When we were there with Meg when she was a couple of months old she was very unhappy when her feet got dipped in the water....this time she was indifferent....lets hope that next time she is happy!

First 'bike'

Meg is a little indifferent about her first bike... it hasn't produced any squeals of delight yet, but she is perfectly happy to be pushed around on it.

Bag of tricks

Meg has added pointing, high 5 and low 5 to her bag of tricks. She also recently added VERY frequent waking during the night to that bag, but thankfully it looks like that is behind us. If you ask her to take the plug out at the end of her bath she scuttles down to the end of the bath and very enthusiastically removes the plug which is then followed by lots of finger pushing through the holes. She is continuously babbling and making some very interesting sounds which is very sweet.

No little Indians :(

Meg enjoys it when you make a noise like an Indian. She puckers her lips and lurches towards me for me to do it to her, but alas she hasn't worked out that she needs to make a sound for it to work! At least she has the clapping thing sorted - very little sound, well actually no sound.... but it is very sweet when you catch her doing it - she looks so chuffed with herself and then gets all coy.

Van der Graaf generator?

No, no.... just a metal bar..... and there I was beginning to think that her hair was starting to lie flat!

Summer fun!

Cruising Meg

Nobody told me that there wouldn't be a break between crawling and pulling up.....on EVERYTHING! I am totally amazed at the changes in Meg this past week. Besides the continuous mama mama mama she is also saying baba and we think there may have been a dada in there too. She is starting to cruise along the furniture and amazingly enough there havn't been too many bumps. It is now almost impossible to change her nappy as she wriggles and squirms. We are now greeted with her little head and big smile peeping over the top of the cot when we walk in to get her. She also through her first 'semi-tantrum' in the supermarket a few days ago when I tried to take the keys away from her that I had given her to distract her from pulling my bunch of Basil apart. I think the fun and games are just beginning :)

Hello/Goodbye

Today Meg waved for the first time. She obviously thought 'Will mom and dad just stop waving the whole time' and then she must have thought 'Hey if I show them I can do it maybe they will stop all that silly flapping'.
